Jasper is a micro-crystalline, grainy aggregate that is found all over the world. It has been known since ancient times and has always held a place of esteem. Amazonite dates back as far as 10th century BC. It was carved by ancient Egyptians into important texts and used by Brazilian warrior women to adorn their shields. Confused interpretations and misleading history has the origins of this prismatic gemstone at the Amazon River Basin in South America. However, there are no deposits there at all! A member of the Feldspar family and found in volcanic rocks and pegmatites, this beautiful bluish green stone, even if not originally from the Amazon, is definitely amazing! -
