Natural white Howlite and sea green Amazonite are hand knotted onto hemp cord and finished with a brass hook and eye clasp. This beautiful wrap bracelet does triple duty and can also be worn as a necklace or anklet! Length measures ~38.5 inches.
Gemstones Used
Amazonite dates back as far as 10th century BC. It was carved by ancient Egyptians into important texts and used by Brazilian warrior women to adorn their shields. Confused interpretations and misleading history has the origins of this prismatic gemstone at the Amazon River Basin in South America. However, there are no deposits there at all! A member of the Feldspar family and found in volcanic rocks and pegmatites, this beautiful bluish green stone, even if not originally from the Amazon, is definitely amazing!
Howlite is a newly discovered gemstone, found in Nova Scotia by 19th century mineralogist Henry How. It forms in clusters that look like cauliflower and has a texture similar to unglazed porcelain. This soft stone is white in its natural state but can be dyed rich, vibrant colors. An inexpensive substitute for brightly colored minerals like Turquoise and Lapis Lazuli, this new-to-the-scene gemstone is beautiful as well as versatile. -
